DEKAsyl MS-6 - White

MS-6 is a MS polymer-based, universal and elastic sealant and adhesive with excellent adhesion (without special pre-treatment) to many materials used in OEM caravans and motorhomes. It is also applicable on spare parts such as painted sidewalls, plastic parts and metals. Due to its high elasticity and low hardness, applications are mainly in the sealing field. However, DEKASYL MS-6 can also be used for adhesive applications, provided that high force transmissions are not required.

• Elastic seals, for example, in caravan and motor home construction.
• Sealing of connection joints on windows, doors, roofs and floors.
• Elastic seals in sanitary areas.
• Bonding and sealing spoilers.

Processing

DEKASYL MS-6 can be easily processed with a hand or air pressure gun at temperatures from +5 °C to 35 °C. For sealing, DEKASYL MS-6 should be further processed or smoothed within 30 minutes (at 20 °C/50 % rel. humidity) with a trowel or putty knife previously dipped in mild DEKAFINISHER. Avoid penetration of DEKAFINISHER between the bonding sides and the sealant, as this will result in loss of adhesion. For bonding, the substrates must be assembled within 35 minutes (at 20 °C/50 % rel. humidity) after application of DEKASYL MS-6. The higher the temperature, the shorter the open time! In general, an adhesive layer of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (with similar strength) are to be bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the thicker the adhesive layer should be. Further information in this regard can be obtained from DEKALIN. At a temperature of 20 °C and a relative humidity of 50%, DEKASYL MS-6 can be overpainted with most industrial paints after only 30 minutes. The best possible adhesion of paint coats is generally obtained when the paint is applied 4 hours after application of DEKASYL MS-6. Clean tools or remove uncured residues of DEKASYL MS-6 with a clean, colorless cloth soaked in DEKACLEAN ULTRA (it is recommended to check beforehand if the surface is affected by this cleaner).
