50L fuel gas tank for caravans and motorhomes

The fuel gas tank is a gas tank for refueling with liquid gas. Unlike car gas tanks, the withdrawal of fuel gas tanks is from the gas phase. The gas taken in gaseous form is used for burning purposes, cooking and heating in motor homes. The liquid gas is a gas mixture of propane gas and butane gas. The withdrawal from the gas tank takes place via a labyrinth tube inside the fuel gas tank.

It is important here the correct installation position of the tank, it is the prescribed installation position to be observed. By default, the alignment of the gas tanks is 105 degrees, unless explicitly stated otherwise. In this case, the valve plate is slightly inclined downwards. When the tanks are installed in the correct position, the labyrinth tube passes through the liquid gas from below and ends above the liquid gas level. Above the liquid gas level in the gas tank the propane/butane vaporizes into a vaporous gas mixture and falls down through the labyrinth tube to the gas withdrawal valve. Here it can be used as a useful gas for combustion purposes. The gas extracted from the gas tank is heavier than air.

The acceptance takes place according to ECE Regulation R67.01 - without previous expiration date! Thus, the gas system does not have to be tested recurrently. Only after a new installation or repair, after an accident or a fire, the gas system must be tested again.
